Description

Mid 19th century, ground floor altered by Dick Peddie and
Walker Todd 1935-37 and 1942. Classical 3 storey, 4-bay
polished ashlar front to the Square. Entrance door with
bracketted cornice in right hand centre bay, black granite
plinth and horizontal channelled rustication all of
1935-37, entrance to chambers over at left hand bay. 1st
floor: moulded cill-course, lugged architraves and cornices
over windows, window over door pedimented. 2nd floor
windows have lugged architraves. Dentil cornice and blocking
course, piended slated roof.

Statement of Interest

A Group Altered to form British Linen Bank by Kinnear &

Peddie 1885. Prior to the alterations of 1935-37 the front

to the square was symmetrical with pediments at the two

centre 1st floor windows and a balustraded balcony

in front.
