Description

Circa 1800. Classical, 3 bays wide, 2 bays deep. 2 storey and
attic on raised basement. South front has advanced and
pedimented centre bay; entrance at principal floor,
approached by railed steps over area, has pilastered
doorpiece; tripartite windows at basement floor with
over-arched venetian windows at principal floor. Coursed
squared rubble with polished angle quoins, band-courses.
Cornice and blocking course. cont. Piended slated roof with
two later piended attic dormers. Pair of central rectangular
rendered stacks. Small mid-19th century, single-storey
rectangular summer house, with piended slated roof,
attached to west of south front.

Statement of Interest

Woodside House was built for Miss Anne Scott of Harden

who purchased the land in 1796.
