Description

Early 19th century, possibly incorporating earlier fabric; later alterations. 2-storey, 2-bay, rectangular-plan house with gable end to street. Painted cement-rendered and lined at ground; harled to remainder. base course; band course between floors to N (street); strip quoins.

N (MAIN STREET) ELEVATION: window at each floor in each bay; gablehead stack above.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 2-bay: part-glazed timber-panelled door at ground in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Enlarged window at ground in bay to left; non-aligned window at 1st floor above. Window at ground in bay to right.

E (REAR) ELEVATION: irregularly fenestrated.

Replacement 4-pane timber-framed windows with top-hung upper lights. Traditional stone slated roof; stone ridge; stone skews; harled, corniced gablehead and ridge stacks; predominantly uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1998.

Statement of Interest

B-Group with 24, 28, 28A and 28B Main Street. Traditionally oriented with gabled end to the street, this house retains its original stone slated roof.
