Description

18th century with later alterations. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay (4-bay at ground) rectangular-plan, end-of-terrace house with single storey lean-to at rear. Harled.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: deep-set, timber-panelled door at ground in bay to right of centre. Window at each floor in bay to outer right. Window at each floor in bays to left of centre and to outer left.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: small attic window to right of gable; gablehead stack above.

4-pane timber sash and case windows; rooflight to N pitch. Modern grey slate roof; stone ridge; stone skews; harled, corniced gablehead stack to W; similar common stack to E; predominantly uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1998.

Statement of Interest

Part of a small 3-house terrace which was probably built in the 18th century when Kirkwall expanded westwards along Wellington Street.
