Description

18th century with later alterations. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan, near-symmetrical crowstepped gabled house built on ground falling to W; curved screen wall to outer left; close flanking to right. Harled. 1st floor windows set close under eaves.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: modern timber door at ground with window to right flanking in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Window at each floor in bay to left; deep-set modern timber door with window flanking in curved screen wall to outer left. Window at each floor in bay to right.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: blank with gablehead stack above.

Replacement timber-framed windows with top-hung upper lights. Traditional graded stone tiled roof; stone ridge; harled, corniced gablehead stacks to E and W; uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR; not seen, 1998.

Statement of Interest

Originally a symmetrical house, but now altered by the addition of a ground floor window. Features of interest include the windows, set close under the eaves, the intact and original stone tiled roof and the substantial stacks. The ground floor was at one time a shop. Presently re-converted for domestic use.
