Description

Goldie and Hadfield, 1856-9 and later additions. 2-storey,
L-plan double pile. Original building, south wing, linked
by passage to church. Snecked rubble with ashlar
dressings. 4 bays, 3-bay later projection at ground with
pointed head to off-centre door and 3 pairs of haunched
lights. Depressed arches to 1st floor windows, eastern
larger with tracery. Cornice, straight skews, small slates
to roof. South elevation: 7 unequal bays; 2 to left
buttressed with Y tracery windows at ground. 2 central
with 2-storey canted and gabled bays (left gable altered),
3 right bays form end of later range, 3 depressed arched
windows to 1st floor, 2 to ground with door and later
projecting porch. North wing later, with 6 bays each with
paired haunched lights in ground and 1st floors on west
elevation. Cornice, straight skews, axial stacks and slate
roof.
