Before restoration took place, the building had stood empty for some years. I counted over 80 pigeons living in it. It was damp, much of the timber work had rotted and some walls had become unstable. If you compare it to how it looks now, you will appreciate that one must never be put off by dereliction. Most buildings can be restored and given sustainable new use.
