Description

Early 19th century, possibly incorporating earlier fabric. Single storey and attic, 3-bay house. Painted harl to front, rubble to rear. Base course, raised, painted margins.

W ELEVATION: central architraved, consoled and corniced doorpiece to centre, rectangular 3-pane fanlight, etched glass, panelled door with 2 replacement glazed panels, panelled jambs. Windows flanking with canted dormers centred above. Single storey, single bay addition to right.

E ELEVATION: 3 windows at ground floor.

S ELEVATION: rendered gable end with advanced piended single storey, single bay addition beneath.

N ELEVATION: adjoining No 2 Hudson Square.

12-pane timber sash and case windows, plate glass to dormers. Grey slate roof, stone skews. Rendered gablehead stack to S.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

Statement of Interest

The north gable of No 3 is sunk within the gable of No2 which would suggest that No 3 is the older of the two. The doorpiece and windows are possibly of a similar date to Nos 1 and 2.
