Description

Early 19th century. Symmetrical 3-bay, 2-storey and basement classical house. Squared and coursed rubble. Rusticated quoins. Ashlar dressings. Harled at sides and rear. Raised margins, base, band and eaves courses.

S ELEVATION: flight of stone steps over-sailing basement to tripartite doorway. Wrought-iron balustrade. Painted, Ionic fluted pilastered doorpiece. Segmentally arched decorative fanlight, panelled door. Tripartite windows flanking. Bipartites to basement.

N ELEVATION: stair window at centre. Full-height canted bay to right. Variety of glazing patterns; small-pane and plate glass sashes. Piended slate roof with lead flashings. Coped end stacks. Rubble boundary wall and division of front and back gardens.

INTERIOR: much original interior decoration retained. Decorative iron balustrade with timber rail. Pine panelled doors. Plaster rose and cornice decoration. Window shutters.
