Description

Woodhouse and Morley, Bradford, architects, 1887. Free
Reniassance, 2-storey and tower gatehouse brick with
ashlar dressings and angle pilasters. 5-bay symmetrical
west front. Doorpiece with channelled pilasters supporting
round arch. Paired windows with stilted segmental arches
on impost moulding to either side. Continuous cill course.
Cornice over ground floor. 1st floor: paired panelled
pilasters to centre bay flanking round-arched window with
impost moulding and apron.
Similar paired windows either side. Eaves cornice and
balustrade with dies over pilasters, those to angles with
urns. Piended slate roof. 2-stage tower over centre bay
with angle pilasters: 1st stage flanked by scrolls has 2
oculi to front and cornice over. 2nd has clock to each
face and bracketted eaved cornice. Low pyramidal slate roof
with iron wind vane.
Return elevation similarly detailed, but north with blind
centre bay and south with centre bay blind at ground and
canted window to right.
