storeys with dormerless attic to High Street and basement
to New Street and down corner. Ashlar. High Street
elevation: 7 symmetrical bays plus 1 to right. Modern shops
at ground floor Channelled pilaster stairs to angle and
right bay. 1st floor central carved cartouche flanked by
architectural and keystoned sashes with bracketted cills.
2nd floor central canted oriel flanked by segmentally-
headed sashes.
Drum corner has modern shops at ground and pulvinated
frieze over. Giant pilaster order to 1st and 2nd floors
with keystoned and architectured sashes, that to 1st floor
centre with consoled pediment; lead ribbed dome with 3
oculi and lantern.
New Street elevation: 12 bays; 6 bay centre set back;
similarly detailed to High Street except 5 round-arched
windows in channelled ground floor and flat heads to 2nd
floor windows of central bays. Mutuled eaves cornice and
balustrade to both elevations. Additional 3-bay, 2 storey
building to south in New Street elaborately detailed round
headed doorway at left. Irregular fenestration.
Channelled pilasters to 2nd floor centre bay. Entablature
breaks forward over pilasters. Pediment to centre and
parapets to sides. Slate roof.
