Description

Circa 1800. Altered 1883 for use as club. Additions and
alterations 1892 T G Abercombie. Symmetrical house 2
storeys, 5 bays with single-storey quadrant wings. Ashlar
fronted with angle pilasters and centre bay set slightly
forward. Base course. Simplified Corinthian pilasters
flank recessed door with fine fanlight and support fluted
frieze and cornice. Rosetted band course over 4 outer bays.
All glazing later plate glass sashes. String course over
1st floor and debased Doric frieze over central bay and
angle pilasters. Eaves cornice with blocking course raised
over centre. Slate roof with straight skews and end stacks.
Wings have pilasters at ends, cornices and blocking courses
raised at centre, pilastered courses raised at centre,
pilastered round-headed windows in architraves. Cast-iron
standard lamp on pedestals flanking steps to door (by
Abercombie).
