Description

Early-mid 18th century with some later fenestration. 2-storey and attic house now divided, regular 6-bay fenestration to frontage (bays grouped 2-4). Harled, plain reveals to N front, painted ashlar margins rear. Enlarged later windows in N elevation with centre entrance to

No 24. Part battered base course.

No 22 entrance in 1st floor of street (W) gable, approached by modern forestair apparently added on subdivision and flanked by blocked windows with long and short ashlar margins. Additional ground floor doorway below forestair. Rear (S) elevation with 5 small windows, probably original to structure, and single later enlarged window; 3 piended wallhead dormers. 9- and 12-pane glazing in sash and case windows. 19th century coped end stacks; flat skews; slate roof with pottery ridge.

22, 24 North High Street was probably originally a warehouse or store, converted as 2 flatted dwellings during l9th century. Erroneously given 24, 26 Low Street address in former list.
