Description

Dated 1878. Detached mansion asymmetrical 2-storey 3-window
E front with slightly advanced pedimented section to right
having canted bay through 2 floors; left-hand bay has ground
floor canted bay, pedimented 1st floor bipartite of
round-arched lights framed in pilasters; centre bay
coupled-column Corinthianesque doorpiece, round-arched window
above at 1st floor, sculptured capitals of high quality at
doorpiece and windows of outer bays, good coursers, polished
ashlar, broad angle margins, main entablature and cornice.
Flank elevations have single-window sections with
superimposed pilaster orders and pediments, piended slated
roof, platformed with twin central chimneys, conservatory
with felted roof at SE. Original later 18th century house at
rear of above, 2-storey and dormerless attic, square piended
stair projection at rear. Attached SW stable block also later
18th century, single-storey and loft L-plan. Slated roofs.
