Description

Mid 19th century. Terraced 2-storey, 5-bay pair of L-plan classical houses. Painted render. Painted margins openings; pilastered doorpiece.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: entrance doorway to outer left flanked by single windows; entrance doorway to penultimate bay to right; single window to outer right; regular fenestration to 1st floor.

2-pane timber sash and case glazing. Grey slate roof; stone skew to E; broad coped rendered gablehead stacks with circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS, GATES AND RAILINGS: painted, coped rubble boundary wall; octagonal gatepiers and caps to central pedestrian entrances; decorative cast-iron gates and railings.

Statement of Interest

A good pair of mid-19th century classical villas fronting the main London Road and retaining their gatepiers, railings and boundary walls.
