Description

Thomas Munro, 1902. Pair semi-detached villas, each 3 storeys,
2 bays.
Sneck coursed stugged rubble, harled flanks, ashlar dressings.
Advanced gabled paired centre bays each with 2 storey, canted
bay window with decorative frieze and Cumbrian fish-scale
slate roof. Original glazed porches in re-entrant angles with
panelled door and cast-iron brattishing. Single piended
dormer rising through wallhead to each house; original rhones
and down-pipes. End stacks; slate roof.
2 pairs earlier 19th century square ashlar gate piers with
fluted and corniced caps. Cast-iron gates and overthrows. Low
coped retaining wall with spearhead cast-iron railing.

Statement of Interest

Built on site of earlier house destroyed by fire circa 1900.
