Description

Earlier 19th century. Single span rubble bridge over Back Burn, with semicircular rubble coping and droved voussoirs.

Statement of Interest

Old postcards of ?Brunton Brig? show rows of cottages, some thatched, leading to the bridge. Not included in this listing but of interest is the ashlar gatepier (just N of the bridge), with domed coping and Greek key-pattern detail, a recurring theme on other stonework in the vicinity of the now demolished Brunton House.
