Circa 1880. 2-storey, 4-bay pair of symmetrical houses. Coursed cream sandstone coursed rubble with ashlar dressings to principal elevation; squared and snecked rubble to sides and rear. Base course; long and short ashlar quoins; shouldered architraves to 1st floor single windows; cill course to 1st floor windows between canted bays; deep cornice; mutual skewputt; chip-carved decorative details.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: doorways to 2 central bays; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; bracketed doorpieces with intricately carved floral design to pediments; segmental-arched single windows above with bracketed cills (scroll motif to architrave of right window at cill). Full-height, 3-light canted windows breaking eaves to outer bays; decorative carved frieze above 1st floor; cast-iron finials to roof. Box dormer to No 2.
E AND W ELEVATIONS: central, round-arched stair windows to 1st floor; single windows to bays to S. Canted dormers to N.
S ELEVATION: single storey extensions to outer bays; regular fenestration above and to central bays.
Plate glass, timber, sash and case windows. Grey slate platform roof; coped and rendered wallhead stacks; coped ridge stack.
These houses are very similar in character and detail to those at Nos 1 and 3 Marchhall Road and Nos 6-12 (even nos) Priestfield Road (see separate list entries).
