Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, shallow-gabled Italianate villa; rectangular-plan. Whinstone and sandstone rubble with painted, stugged margins and dressings; bracketted cills at 1st floor. Stugged base course; rusticated quoins; advanced eaves, exposed rafters.

W ELEVATION: broad gabled bay to outer left, 6-light window at ground, 1st floor; triglyped consoles supporting cornice above ground floor window; paired, segmental-headed panels with painted escutcheons at centre in gablehead. Narrow entrance bay to right, round-headed, keystone, 2-leaf panelled, plate glass fanlight; narrow window at 1st floor, panel below, cill. Tripartite window to ground outer right, bipartite window with gable breaking eaves at 1st floor.

E ELEVATION: rendered, various openings, later gabled jamb projecting at centre.

Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; broad, coped stacks with octagonal cans.
