Description

Earlier 19th century. Symmetrical 2-storey 3-bay house with adjoining garages. Coursed dressed red sandstone with painted dressings. Quoin strips, base course and eaves course. Regular fenestration; 1st floor windows hard under eaves. Rebuilding to left bay at ground. Double garage with boarded door adjoined to W. Broad dry-dashed E return with 3 windows. Timber sash and case 12-pane windows at 1st floor; modern plate glass windows at ground. Piend and platform roof; grey slates; dry-dashed stacks, brick to garage.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

Statement of Interest

Catrine was built to provide housing for the local mill which formerly adjoined Mill Square to the W. B Group with Ayr Bank House to the W (see separate listing).
