Mid 19th century, probably incorporating earlier fabric and with later additions and alterations. 3-storey, 2-bay building with shop at ground, in terrace. Painted whinstone rubble with ashlar (now rendered) dressings. Eaves course.
SE ELEVATION: shop window and glazed door at ground in bay to left with fascia; window to each floor above. Segmental-arched yard entrance at ground of bay to right with window to each floor above.
NW ELEVATION: full-height projection in bay to right with further 2-storey addition.
Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Slate roof. Ashlar coped mutual stack to SW; harled and coped mutual stack to NE.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1995.
There was a building on this site in 1823. The 1st and 2nd floors are now used as accommodation for the adjacent County Hotel, 1995.
