Description

Earlier to mid 19th century with later alterations and additions. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay rectangular-plan symmetrical house in terrace (see notes) with gabletted dormers, built on ground rising to W. Harled with painted cement margins to openings.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: deep-set part-glazed timber panelled door at ground in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Enlarged window at ground with window at 1st floor above in bays flanking. large dormers above.

Modern windows at ground and to dormers; 12-pane timber sash and case windows to 1st floor. Grey slate roof; slated dormers with stone ridges; concrete skews; rooflight between dormers; harled stack to W (left) gablehead; uPVC rainwater goods.

Statement of Interest

Adjoining houses to right (E), (numbers 1-5), and to left (W), (number 9), listed separately. A raggle on the W gable might indicate that the original roof level was lower, with 1st floor windows hugging the eaves, or that the roof level of No 9 was higher.
