Description

Early to earlier 19th century. 2-stage rubble folly (adjoining gable end of derelict farmhouse) with ashlar dividing course and projecting rubble margins. Pointed-arch openings.

E ELEVATION: 1st stage with large pointed-arch niche at ground. 2nd stage with pointed-arch window below quatrefoil opening, 3 small square nesting boxes to left and 'open' crowsteps to left pitch.

Farmhouse with small windows at each floor to centre of N elevation.

Statement of Interest

Built as a folly to be viewed from Raith House to the E. An almost identical structure, known as 'Balwearie Tower' (listed separately), is situated to the S of Raith House.
