Description

18th century. 2-storey, 5-bay house and shop in regular terrace to NE. Harl with painted margins.

NW (THE SQUARE) ELEVATION: shop window in bay to left of centre with part-glazed timber doors in flanking bays and 2 windows beyond to right; regular fenestration to 1st floor; outer right bay slightly recessed with rounded outer angle corbelled to square at 1st floor.

SE ELEVATION: single storey extension to ground with window to outer left and 3 windows at 1st floor; further single storey wing projecting to outer right and adjoining outbuildings (see below).

4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows; fixed window to shop. Grey slate and Angus stone slate. Coped ashlar and brick stacks with thackstanes and cans.

ANCILLARY STRUCTURES: single storey, rubble outbuildings with boarded timber doors and Angus slate.
