A well-detailed lodge, built to serve the original Charterhall House - itself replaced in the later 20th century (see separate list entry). The lodge probably dates from a time when the Charterhall estate was in the ownership of Richard Trotter, noted by Rutherfurd as one of Fogo's principal landed proprietors. See separate list entries for the South Lodge and its quadrant walls, gatepiers and gates, as well as the Stable Courtyard (both designed by John Lessels).
