Late 18th to early 19th century; raised to 2-storey and made single property with later alterations. 2-storey, 4-bay cottage (originally 2 2-bay cottages) with single storey garage block adjoined to right. Whinstone and sandstone rubble at ground; predominantly sandstone rubble at 1st floor; tooled rubble sandstone dressings. Rubble quoins; predominantly droved long and short surrounds to openings; projecting cills.
SE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: modern timber panelled door off-set to right of centre; single window aligned at 1st floor. Single windows at both floors in remaining bays to left and right. Garage block adjoined to right with 2-leaf boarded timber garage door off-set to right.
NW (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen 1998.
uPVC glazing throughout. Grey slate roof; stone coped skews; brick apex stacks. Corrugated-iron roof to garage.
INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
BOUNDARY WALL: low coped rubble wall enclosing site to front.
Despite the creation of a single cottage from what was originally two, this cottage remains one of the most prominent in Leitholm's Main Street, with a relatively old ground floor.
