Description

18th century and substantial mid 19th century addition. 2-storey, 5-bay, T-plan farmhouse (bays grouped 3 to right 18th century, 2 to left mid 19th century). Painted ashlar and harl with stone cills and raised margins. Base course. Corniced door; hoodmould; stone mullions.

SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: advanced gabled bay to left of centre with panelled timber at ground and hoodmoulded window above; slightly less advanced broader gable to outer left with canted tripartite window to each floor; 3 recessed bays to right with window (altered from door) to centre, windows in flanking bays and regular fenestration to 1st floor.

NW ELEVATION: centre bay with advanced wing (irregular fenestration to returns), and 2-bay single storey projection with window off-centre left and blank bay to outer left with door and adjacent window below finialled gable on return to left. Recessed bays to right with 2 windows to each floor, those to left with 2 doors to ground, stair window to right and further window to left at 1st floor.

NE ELEVATION: gabled elevation with window to outer right at ground.

SW ELEVATION: gabled elevation with full-height stepped chimney breast and window to left of centre at 1st floor.

4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows to principal elevation; mainly 4- and 12-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows elsewhere. Coped harled stacks with cans and ashlar-coped skews.

WELL, BOUNDARY WALLS AND GATEPIERS: rubble wellhead to N; coped rubble boundary walls; coped square-section ashlar gatepiers with hooped iron gates.
