Description

Mid 19th century with later alterations and additions. 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical rectangular-plan house with flat-roofed single bay, single storey addition to left and L-plan outbuildings projecting from rear. Cement harled. Concrete cills to 1st floor windows, hugging eaves.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: deep-set boarded door with letterbox fanlight at ground in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Window at each floor in each bay flanking. Modern, part-glazed door with window immediately to right in addition to outer left.

N (SIDE) ELEVATION: window, offset to right, at each floor; gablehead stack above.

S (SIDE) ELEVATION: advanced blank single storey wall of addition spanning ground floor; window, offset to left at 1st floor; gablehead stack above.

W (REAR) ELEVATION: small window at 1st floor in bay to centre. Single storey outbuilding projecting from bay to left. Window at ground in bay to right. 2-bay addition to outer right: window in each bay, offset to left.

Predominantly 12-pane timber sash and case windows ; timber-framed windows to rear, sides and addition. Grey slate roof; stone ridge; modern felt covering to addition; concrete skews; harled corniced gablehead stacks; uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1997.

ANCILLARY STRUCTURES: single storey rubble L-plan outbuilding range projecting from rear of main house, forming small courtyard; modern concrete-blocked addition to S. Boarded doors and small timber-framed windows; stone-slated roof with stone ridge; corrugated-iron roof to S addition.

GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALLS: square-plan rubble gatepiers with flat stone copes sited to front (E) of house; rubble wall forming rectangular-plan garden to E.
