Early 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay terraced plain traditional tenement with shops at ground. Rendered. Base course, eaves course and quoin strips.
NELEVATION: fanlit tenement door at centre at ground. Shop windows flanking; that to right tripartite with 2-leaf panelled door, 2-pane fanlight, flanking windows and coped fascia; that to left 2-part, recessed door to outer left with shop gate, flanked by window, with corniced fascia above. 3 windows at 1st floor, grouped to left.
Modern windows. Grey slate roof. Coped skews. Gablehead stacks.
INTERIOR: not seen 1999.
Sited at W end of Main Street, part of a terraced run funneling traffic through Newmilns, significant for its traditional form, historic shopfronts and contribution to the streetscape at a crucial junction.
