Description

Early 19th century. 3-storey, 3-bay tenement with ground floor shop. Painted render. Consoled cornice to ground floor shop; eaves course. Painted margins to windows at 1st and 2nd floors.

NW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central recessed entrance to modern shopfront at ground floor; modern aluminium glazed door with letterbox fanlight; flanking shop windows; regular fenestration at 1st and 2nd floors (deep aprons to 2nd floor windows).

4-pane timber sash and case windows at 1st floor; modern tilt and turn windows at 2nd floor. Grey slate roof; stack to right; circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

The street was developed along the lines of a lane in the 19th century, to give access to a new Butter Market on its N side.
