Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey and attic, 4-bay tenement forming part of terrace with shop at ground. Painted ashlar. Cill course; cornice; blocking course.

SW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central entrance to shopfront at ground; 2-leaf glazed timber door; letterbox fanlight; flanking entrances to outer left and right; single timber door to outer left; 2-leaf glazed timber door to outer right; lamps to centre of dies at outer left and right of shopfront fascia. Regular fenestration at 1st floor. Single dormer to left at attic.

24-pane timber sash and case windows at 1st floor; 16-pane at attic. Grey slate roof; mutual brick stack to right; circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

The street was developed along the lines of a lane in the 19th century, to give access to a new Butter Market on its N side.
