Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. Former mill and wheel with associated single storey courtyard ranges converted to dwelling. Random rubble with squared rubble quoins.

MILL AND WHEELHOUSING: tall gabled building with timber-spoked wheel and iron gear ring under swept-roof outshot.

W ELEVATION: broad wheelhousing to right with door opening to timber overshot wheel and cast-iron gearing. Recessed bay to left with boarded timber door to right at ground square opening above, arrowslit type ventilation opening to left with small window above. Slightly lower range adjoining to outer left.

S ELEVATION: broad gabled elevation with doors to right at ground and in gablehead, garage range adjoining to outer right.

COURTYARD RANGES: ranges to N and W converted to dwelling with variety of elements retained including slate-hung hayloft opening and traditional rooflights (to N). S range converted to garage with modern roof.

Small-pane modern glazing patterns throughout. Grey slates. Coped brick stack to mill building.
