Description

Possibly 18th century. Squared pink sandstone rubble domical ice house set beneath bridge arch. Square-headed passage accessing semi-subterranean , oval-shaped chamber. Coursed sandstone inner lining. Modern railings dividing passage and chamber.

Set within the boundaries of the INVENTORY site. Deliberately sited in a cool, dark space beneath the bridge arch, this ice house remains a good example of its fairly typical type.
