Description

Early 19th century. 3-bay, single storey cottage with attic and adjoining out-building. Sandstone rubble; droved surrounds to openings and quoins.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: central door with step; flanking windows. Out-building set back to right; door to left.

W ELEVATION: attic window to right.

N ELEVATION: central window. Possible sluice hole in out-building.

E ELEVATION: attic window to left; plain gable to out-building.

Windows missing; plank door. Raised flat-head skews; pitched slate roof to house; gable ends stacks, circular can (missing stack to E). Pitched roof; early red clay pantiles to out-building.

INTERIOR: gutted interior, 2000.

Statement of Interest

Craigduckie Cottage probably housed workers for nearby Easter Craiduckie Farm which is depicted on Blaeu's 1654 map, The Sherifdome of Fyfe. The cottage is presently redundant (2000) but appears to have been largely untouched since it was built.
