Earlier 20th century. Obelisk war memorial. Grey granite with pink granite details. Square-plan plinth; tiered base with rectangular plaque dedicated to the men who died during the Second World War. Square-plan central shaft; faces inscribed with the names of those who died during the First World War. Pink granite columns at angles and pink granite base and cornice. Pedimented section to inscribed shaft; dated 1914, 1919. Fleur-de-lys carved detail above; inscribed on one face. Shaft rises to a point; surmounted by carved fleur-de-lys. 3-sided flagstone wall surrounds memorial.
A fine memorial commemorating the large number of men who died during the World Wars. The coloured granite is used to decorative effect.
