Statement of Interest

Wester Coates Garden was a final phase in the development of the Wester Coates estate by Heriot's Trust. The villa development had begun in the 1850s, under the supervision of Alexander Black. Other surveyors responsible for the area were John Chesser and Donald A Gow. The houses in the area are representative of the stylistic changes that occurred over the 50 years that the area was developed.
