Description

Early 19th century. 5-storey plain classical corner tenement, ground floor in use as shops: coursed rubble: ground floor pilastrade in Davie Street.

Statement of Interest

Following the completion of the South Bridge in 1788 which linked the northern New Town and the Southside of Edinburgh the Southside of Edinburgh expanded rapidly. The proposed corner tenement appears laid out on Kirkwood's 1817 map. The completed block is visible on Wood's map of 1831.

Listed building record and statutory address updated (2015). Previously listed as 'Richmond Street West 7-15A and 1-9 Davie Street'.
