History

Established C1780, and known as the Miners' Arms until 1857, the present building is probably largely of C1830.

Exterior

Render over brick, with slate roof set back behind parapet. 2 storeys, 2 window range facing Town Hill, with 2 window range return to College Street. Ground floor has public frontage in a late C19 style (but possibly renewed); 12-pane sash windows above.
