History

A bee shelter dating probably from the C19, but it could well be older or even C17 as such things did not change.

Exterior

Rectangular niches set into rubble retaining wall. Subdivided by upright stone slabs into three niches approximately 30 cm square with continuous dripstones over. Each niche would have given protective housing for a straw bee-skep.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a good example of a bee bole and having group value with the farmhouse and the listed farmyard buildings.
