Not built up on 1848 Meyrick estate map; street was named after EdwardáLaws who died 1854.
Circa 1850-60 terraced house, painted lined stucco with imitation slate roof and stone N end stack. Basement and two storeys, two-window range of 16-pane sashes with arch-headed door to left. Four-panel door and plain fanlight, in pilastered surround with moulded arch (as on No 95). Three slate steps. Iron area railings (as on adjoining houses) and slate steps to basement door and window.
Though isolated from other listable houses in Laws Street, No 97 retains much of its original character and detailing.
