History

C18 timber-framed dovecote raised on stone piers, with first floor chamber and dove access through tiny openings in the glazed cupola. Said to be marked on a map of 1738.

Exterior

Dovecote, square, colourwashed plastered first floor raised on four square colourwashed piers. Low door in E side for ladder access. The plaster is said to be on brick. Pyramid stone tiled roof with flat top carrying fine octagonal timber cupola with pointed glazed openings, with timber Y-tracery and small dove holes beneath. Ogee leaded octagonal dome.

Graded II* for its exceptional architectural interest as a dovecote of unusual design.
