History

Late C18 or early C19.

Exterior

Three-storey shop with accommodation above. Painted brick with band between first and second floors. Main elevation to north of two windows with hipped slate roof and modillion eaves. Nine-pane sash windows on second floor; 12-pane sashes on first floor. Very fine Victorian shop front with central bowed and half-glazed double doors flanked each side by a bowed window of two three-centred headed lights; casing of pilasters, fascia and modillion cornice. East return with single small-pane sash window to each floor, set towards rear. West return with single small-pane sash window to first and second floors, set towards rear, and small doorway below; to L, round-headed doorway with pedimented doorcase.

Reasons for Listing

Building retaining its early C19 character with fine Victorian shopfront. Group value with adjacent listed buildings in the High Street.
