Substantial late Georgian house of the Davies family from the late C18 or early C19. Jane Powell widow of Reginald Powell of Rhydwhyman is commemorated in the church, she died in 1819 aged 103. Edward Davies (died 1830) was owner in 1811, William Davies was owner in 1839 and William Davies Bryan in 1880.
House, red brick, Flemish bond, with plain tile roof and brick end stacks. Three storeys, three bays with nogged brick eaves cornice. Flat-headed windows with gauged brick heads, the windows originally sashes replaced in uPVC since 1983. Six-pane upper windows, 12-pane to main floors. Stone sills. Centre C20 brick lean-to porch, replacing a flat-topped porch on thin Tuscan pillars (there in 1949). Within porch was original arched doorway with radiating-bar fanlight and six-panel door.
Lean-to addition to right with hipped plain tile roof. Rear left has cambered headed windows to ground and first floor and flat-headed upper window (all with uPVC glazing) and rear wing to right with upper window above. Wing is of brick, one storey and attic, with slate roof. Modern gabled dormer with Salop Fire Office plaque. Roof descends low over veranda with modern posts in front of ground floor, which has modern door to left and three-light cambered-headed window to right. Renewed end stack. Lean-to against gable end.
Exposed squared ceiling beams with plain joists in NE room and rear wing. Staircase with straight balusters. Six-panel doors.
Included notwithstanding altered windows as substantial late Georgian farmhouse.
