History

The distinctive frontage was added to an older smithy in l896 by MaryáCornelia Marchioness of Londonderry for the visit of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Exterior

The front is of purple engineering brick with end pilasters, cornice and stepped feature to centre. Horseshoe arch doorway with terracotta voussoirs, with regularly spaced 'nails'; the label has scrolled ends. Boarded doors.
Rubble and brick side elevation; slate roof with cut down chimney stack to far gable.
