Exterior

Very rare example of cast-iron E VIII R pillar box of 1936 date. Circular red painted stem with domed cap and fluted rim. Weather projection over curved door with raised surrounds to letter opening and collection plate. Crowned monogram with thick interlaced letters over POST OFFICE lettering. Moulded base painted black.

Crowned monogram of exceptional historic importance because King Edward VIII abdicated before has coronation.
