History

Mid C19 end-terrace cottage in one of 2 picturesque Gothic rows facing each other across the main road, the rows originally of 2 gable ended cottages flanking one double-fronted cottage. Possibly built for the Ffosrhydgaled estate, not marked on 1845 Tithe map.

Exterior

Single storey end-terrace cottage, in terrace of 3, the end ones gable-ended, the centre one double fronted, with pointed windows, facing a matching terrace opposite. Whitewashed rubble with slate gabled roofs. Stuccoed addition to left with plate glass horned sash with wide side margins, slightly cambered head and painted stone sill. Original gable-fronted cottage to right has wavy bargeboard, boarded door to left and Gothic severely-pointed window to right with small panes, interlacing glazing bars to head and painted stone sill. Massive stone stack to right, shared with centre cottage, heightened in later C20 in brick.

Interior

Not inspected at time of survey.
