History

Late C18 /early C19. This road was managed by the Aberystwyth Turnpike Trust, which was set up in 1770.

Exterior

Low milestone with rounded top. Inscription with seraphed lettering (partly following curve) reads: "Aberystwyth 20 miles. Lampeter 4".

Listed for its historic interest as a survival of early road transport history.
