History

A Calvinistic Methodist Chapel built in 1866 and seemingly unchanged since then.

Exterior

Roughly squared uncoursed pink sandstone rubble with freestone quoins and dressings and a Welsh slate roof. Single cell gable ended building. Entrance front has an arched central doorway with a rusticated surround and keyed head. Tall arched windows on either side with long and short quoins, 16 over 20 panes. Rusticated quoin pilasters, string across at frieze level. Pedimented end with scalloped bargeboards. Central roundel with rope mould frame containing inscription

Side elevation has two arched windows with 20 panes. Rear gable has bargeboards and quoin pilasters but is otherwise plain while the rear elevation is blind and has a small lean-to.

Interior

The interior is very plain with painted Gothic style pews and the 'set fawr' in a niched alcove.

Reasons for Listing

Included as an unaltered example of a rural Methodist Chapel of 1866.
