Croglofft cottage in isolated situation between Mynydd Anelog and Uwchmynydd, probably built in earlier C19 as part of the encroachment on to common land. Marked on 1844 Tithe Map as owned by Thomas Jones of Ystolhelig, occupied by William Thomas, with 3 acres (1.2ha).
Cottage, roughcast with grouted slate roof and stone end stacks with dripstones and pyramid cappings, larger stack to left. Single-storey, part-lofted, double-fronted and facade offset to right. 4-pane sash each side of ledged door. Left end rubble stone small outbuilding with corrugated iron roof and door to extreme right. Loft light on right end gable and added lean-to below.
Included as good example of small croglofft cottage in remote situation, retaing vernacular character, and forming a clear example of a small holding built as a commons-encroachment.
