History

The building was possibly erected in the early C19 as an animal house, probably for pigs. Plas Iolyn farmhouse was once the major sub-medieval house of this district.

Exterior

Built of stone rubble and a slate roof. Single storey, a single bay with door in the SE gable end, and a blocked door originally opening to a small walled area on the NW side. The yard wall on the SW side has two hopper-type feed openings.

Reasons for Listing

Included as part of the group of important farm buildings associated with the historically important farmstead of Plas Iolyn.
